Rottweiler - introduction information

The origin of the Rottweilers is still not thoroughly researched, but conjectures suggest that his direct ancestors were already used as herding and herding dogs and as guard dogs of the Roman army. The name of this breed derives from the old town of Rottweil, where Italian-arrived dogs of this species were crossed and bred by local butchers in the Middle Ages. They served mainly as a driving, but also as a draft dog. After the stocks of the Rottweilers had declined sharply in the course of the 19th century, the Rottweiler club was founded in Germany, which dedicated itself to the preservation of this breed. Thanks to his versatile talents, the Rottweiler was also used as a police dog from the early twentieth century. To date, he is used successfully as a service dog in various fields.
The Rottweiler is of muscular and strong build and has a distinctive and wide skull with a rounded forehead. At a shoulder height of up to seventy centimeters, this stocky dog can bring a weight of up to 69 kilograms on the scales. The physique of Rottweilers does not clumsy, but well-proportioned and agile. The coat of Rottweilers is dense and short and appears in a glossy black, on the legs and paws, on the chest and tail root, the snout and in the face are clearly defined areas in reddish brown color. The dark-rimmed eyes are usually black, but can also be pigmented blue. Its triangular shaped ears carries the Rottweiler tilted forward.
The Rottweiler is on the racial list in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is considered one of the most dangerous dog breeds ever. However, accidents caused by Rottweiler are not due to the nature of this dog, but to the lack of or faulty education by irresponsible or inexperienced owners. The Rottweiler has a very loving and meek character and meets people friendly and without aggression, if he is already socialized and consistently educated in the puppy age. He is quite suitable as a disgraceful and affectionate family dog and has a strong protector instinct, which is why he will always defend his pack. However, the Rottweiler needs a strong-minded and confident caregiver who can handle this highly intelligent powerhouse well. Physical workload in the form of long runs and physical exercise is a basic requirement for his well-balanced nature. If the Rottweiler has clear boundaries, he will fit into a family association without problems, well-known visits will always be received in a friendly way and children will also be a patient and lively playmate.
